About Moors & Cabot

Culture and Values

I joined Moors & Cabot in 2019, and it has been an incredibly rewarding experience. What drew me to the firm was its foundation—deep-rooted relationships are at the heart of everything we do. I appreciate that our financial professionals prioritize genuinely understanding clients’ wealth management preferences and objectives. With the support of tenured financial professionals with successful track records spanning over a decade, I know I'm surrounded by experts who truly care about our clients' financial journeys.

One of the standout aspects of our culture is the choice to remain small and private. Unlike many large firms, we focus on maintaining a personal touch in our client relationships. To me - this showcases how seriously we take the "advisor" role. This dedication is part of what makes working here special, and being part of a team that has been doing this for over 135 years is something I take pride in.

At Moors & Cabot, our mission is "to create and sustain a world-class platform (people, process, and technology) and competitively deliver the highest quality service to financial professionals and clients in a great place-to-work environment for all our colleagues". I value the independent and unbiased counsel we provide, free from proprietary products. This commitment to integrity cultivates trust, which I believe is essential in our line of work.

The culture at Moors & Cabot is something genuinely unique. It’s not just a workplace; it’s a community where our shared values drive every decision we make. Experience certainly matters, but I’ve come to realize that wisdom— the kind that comes from consistently making sound decisions—is what truly sets us apart.

Ultimately, my loyalty to Moors & Cabot stems from our unwavering focus on what’s best for our clients. This client-centric business model aligns perfectly with my own values, making me proud to be part of such a respected firm.

History

In 1890, 13 years before the New York Stock Exchange was established in its current location, John F. Moors and Charles Cabot founded a small investment firm in the financial district of Boston. Their initial mission was to manage personal investments for themselves and their friends.

Over time, that mission expanded significantly. Today, Moors & Cabot manages the assets of thousands of investors from its headquarters in Boston, as well as from branch offices across the country.

It's not just about longevity; it’s also about the experience, stability, and wisdom that these years bring to each client relationship. The firm truly values the significance of time.

Moors & Cabot has navigated through two world wars, market crashes in 1907, 1929, and 1987, countless panics, numerous recessions, the dot-com bubble, and the housing bubble, along with the daily fluctuations of an ever-changing financial landscape. Throughout all these challenges, Moors & Cabot has prevailed, and, more importantly, so have its clients.

While there is pride in a tradition of proven results, the firm also embraces what is happening now and what lies ahead. From market transitions to advanced technology, clients can benefit from a unique combination of nineteenth-century roots and twenty-first-century capabilities.
